My name is Janet, I am 44 years old, married with a son Nathan, 16 years old. I have had MS for 23 years but I was only diagnosed 20 years ago when I had a bad relapse and lost control of my legs. I am lucky in the fact that every time I have a relapse it goes to a different part of my body each time.
I decided to join SHIMS when my MS nurse told me about it, she said I would be able to talk to a lot of people with similar symptoms which I have found very helpful, we have a good laugh too.
I find the talks and information we are given very useful, I enjoy the exercises, relaxation and reflexology, I find them all beneficial.
All the trips that are organised are so enjoyable as they are places that we wouldn't normally go to.
All in all I am really pleased I plucked up courage to join SHIMS.
